2022 - Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul R8 - Wildwood Spec, Murphy Painted, Gloss, Dark Burst Gloss

As far as R8s go, this one's got a much nicer figured top than you'd expect - most 1958 reissues sport the usual plain top, baseball bat neck. This neck is not overly meaty, could be in R9 territory. The standout feature is obviously that very expensive leaflet in the COA showing the man himself, Tom Murphy, at work. This is a Murphy painted - do not confuse it with a traditional Murphy Lab, this R8 has been painted by Tom, with no aging whatsoever, and in a nice gloss finish (no VOS shenanigans here). A collector-grade item that won't come back, as Tom is not partnering with Wildwood anymore for these collaborations.
