This is not your typical R9, but it is indeed an R9 model (with Custo Shop serial, as per hangtag). Sure, the bookmatched quilted maple top is nice and all, but some specs are truly unique: long scale (25"), contoured body, L-5-ish chalice headstock and old school Gibson logo. This is for the collectors looking for something truly unique and unprecedented, with the added bonus of a very fine and wavy top. What's not to like.
