2002 - Gibson Custom Shop 50th Anniversary Les Paul Custom Curly Koa Top, Antique Natural, Mint

If you're looking for bling, this is it. A production of 50 guitars for the 50th anniversary. I don't see why collectors are not more obsessed with this model, it's a curly Koa top, with a killer one-piece quilted maple back, and a three piece figured flame neck, with Koa strips in between. We barely see any one-piece slabs from the Custom Shop, let alone a run of 50. Then you have the golden hardware, the Madagascar ebony board and a truly outstanding selection of abalone for the inlays. This back, though, is genuinely breathtaking, from any angle.
