1992 - Gibson Les Paul Classic Signature Edition, Les Paul signed, 1-piece Flamed Maple Top, #1-30, Heritage burst, Mint

A genuine 1 of 1 from the Custom Shop, before it was formally set up as the Custom Shop. The friends at Guitar Showcase commissioned 30 creations, and this is the coveted #1, sporting a glorious 1-piece flamed maple top. I have a few Les Pauls with this feature, and it's increasingly hard to find one on an R9 model. But is this an R9? It wasn't called that back then, the historic reissues started in Oct 1993, so this preceeds the formal naming convention but sports all the "Classic" (as they frame in the documentation) features of the original Standard, including the ABR-1 bridge mounted directly on the top. This beuty comes with the very original shipping box for Gbson, and a whole lot of case candy and documentation.
