Before the R9 was the R9, Gibson toyed with numerous unofficial re-issues. The Standard 82 was Kalamazoo's response to Nashville's Heritage series - neither model remotely being close to a proper R9; that said, these models are rare, collectable and a pleasure to behold, especially when coming with a wild quilt maple, and without a scratch to mention. The Tim Shaw pickups don't hurt. A beautiful find of the 80s era Gibson.
